Job Description:

The Investment Recovery Specialist will coordinate with internal company clients to sell or otherwise dispose of scrap and surplus materials. The Specialist will request and compare quotes from potential buyers, assemble sales agreements with the successful buyer(s), and will track all sales for reporting purposes. This position will also work with the Category Manager to ensure alignment of the Investment Recovery activities with the Department's supply chain sustainability efforts.

  • Investment Recovery Specialist works with internal clients to identify scrap and surplus material that is eligible for sale/disposal.
  • Identifies potential buyers, solicits and compares quotes, selects the buyers, and documents the sales utilizing standard Sales Agreements.
  • Works with Supply Management Contracting Agent to establish and administer multi-year contracts with successful bidders for high-risk and high-volume commodities.
  • Interface with Accounting for invoicing, receipt of payment, and accounting of funds.
  • Ensures compliance with company IR policy and all environmental laws and regulations related to Investment Recovery activities.
  • Tracks monthly sales, and annual reporting of IR revenue and activities (includes external reports).
  • Works with internal clients and Community Relations group to process donations of surplus material.
  • Drives for continuous improvement in the IR process in order to maximize efficiency and revenue, while maintaining high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Supply Chain Sustainability: Collaborates with the Category Manager to ensure the Investment Recovery activities align with the Department's supply chain sustainability efforts and goals and broader organizational goals. Collaborates with the Category Manager, Contracting Agents, and company personnel to leverage surplus sales date to make better purchasing decisions. Prepares annual reporting of supply chain sustainability activities.

Requirements

External Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, and Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent related training and experience required.
