Hastings Reciprocating Insulated Saw Extension without Hackzall® (left) and with a Hackzall® Attached (right)
Clearing branches around power lines can be a demanding task, especially when crews need additional reach while maintaining control of their equipment. Lineworkers often need reciprocating saw power at greater distances from the pole without sacrificing insulation integrity. Hastings' 4006 Reciprocating Insulated Saw Extension (R.I.S.E.) gives lineworkers a practical, stable way to extend their reach while providing the cutting capabilities of a reciprocating saw.
Designed specifically for use with a Milwaukee Hackzall® (not included with purchase), the R.I.S.E. combines a 6-foot insulated extension with the power and versatility of a reciprocating saw to help crews efficiently cut wood, aluminum, and steel when using the appropriate blade.
Added Reach and Power for Demanding Jobs
The R.I.S.E. gives lineworkers added reach, control, and versatility in the field. The product includes a 6-foot insulated extension to help reach branches and other materials that would otherwise be difficult to access. The total length when the saw is attached is 81 inches.
Hastings' R.I.S.E. provides reciprocating cutting capabilities for a variety of applications. When used with the appropriate blade, the saw can cut through wood, aluminum, and steel, resulting in increased flexibility without needing to change tools in the field.
When paired with a new 5Ah battery, the R.I.S.E. can achieve approximately 120 cuts on 1-inch diameter branches. This combination of extended reach and cutting capability makes the product a practical addition for crews tasked with pruning and clearing lines.
Insulated Fiberglass Supports Safety
Working around utility lines requires tools designed with safety in mind. The R.I.S.E. incorporates fiberglass to provide an insulated extension between the user and the working area.
Hastings' fiberglass is rated at 100 kilovolts per foot to meet ASTM F711, supporting the safety, performance, and reliability required when working in demanding environments.
The fiberglass is coated in Hastings' signature yellow, enhancing visibility in various weather conditions.
Designed for Cleaning and Testing
Proper care is an important part of maintaining insulated tools and increasing a product's lifespan. The R.I.S.E. is designed with inner and outer poles that can be easily disassembled, providing better access for cleaning and testing.
These features help crews maintain the fiberglass while supporting the regular inspection and testing practices required for insulated equipment.
Built with Lineworkers in Mind
Whether pruning branches or clearing lines, lineworkers need equipment that can help make difficult jobs safer and more efficient. Hastings' 4006 R.I.S.E. provides added reach and cutting versatility while incorporating insulated fiberglass designed for utility applications.
The 6-foot insulated extension, compatible with a Milwaukee Hackzall® (not included with purchase), is able to cut a variety of materials and its ease of disassembly all work together to provide a practical tool built for demanding jobs.
The introduction of the 4006 R.I.S.E. reflects Hastings' continued commitment to innovation and developing products around the needs of lineworkers.
