Customers often put their faith in linemen to restore power and enhance the reliability of their electric service. While linemen play a critical and visible role in these efforts, hundreds of other FirstEnergy employees, like engineers, work tirelessly behind the scenes to help keep the power on.

Engineers across a wide range of disciplines, from electrical and civil to nuclear and mechanical, ensure that the company's overall power system is functioning properly to provide customers with reliable and safe electric service. Because they do so with little or no public recognition or acknowledgement, FirstEnergy is highlighting its engineering workforce during National Engineers Week, held Feb. 18-24.
