About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts.

Position Overview:   

This position is aligned with Planning, Scheduling and Accounting personnel in work flow process, analytical data tracking and will act as a single point of contact for SCE internal/ external customers.  The successful candidate will serve as the single point of contact for the Meter Order Process.  Will also be the single point of contact with various government permitting agencies.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • The APP1 initiates, tracks, reports, and resolves issues related to scope and schedule of all meter installations.
  • This position interacts with Home Builders, City Inspectors, Civil crews, Field Crews, CSBU, and TDBU district personnel to effectively perform all the expected job duties.
  • The APP1 must possess strong project management skills and be able to effectively rank and manage priorities.
  • The APP1 position strategically manages compliance dates ensuring completion well before established deadlines. 
  • Receiving and/or processing new business related requests and inspection for City, Counties and other internal organizations.
  • Posting inspections on-line and managing inspection logs.
  • Reviewing MSR for completeness and communicating missing requirements.
  • Maintaining all necessary reports and updating Supervisor as required.
  • Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience performing detailed analysis, querying, investigating and resolving problems, drawing conclusions from complex data and information, and presenting results to management and key stakeholders.
  • This position requires frequent travel (10% per week) between two work bases and the successful applicant will be required to be present as needed at either location, which may occasionally include driving in harsh winter weather. 
  • Must possess a valid CA driver's License. 
  • Three or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing. 

Desired qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or other related discipline or 3-5 years performing utility related analytical job duties.  
  • Two or more years of experience working in an Analyst position.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Experience in customer service, related specifically to Towns, Cities, Municipalities and Business communities.  
  • Two or more years of experience prioritizing, planning, organizing and coordinating heavy workloads while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and meeting assigned deadlines. 
  • Ability to read job blueprints, maps and diagrams or an ability to quickly learn how to read blueprints, maps and diagrams.   
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and, be customer focused, to understand and appropriately respond to clients' business needs.
  • Experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with others, such as internal/external clients, peers, management, and other work units.
  • General knowledge of the Scheduling, Meter Order, and basic Design processes and workflows is a plus.

  • Position will require up to 10% traveling per week to a secondary work base.
