About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts.
Position overview
This position will be in the Transmission Substations & Operations group within Southern California Edison's (SCE) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T&D). The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the supervision of multiple crews which would include the maintenance and testing responsibilities for the distribution apparatus pieces of equipment.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Manage a highly specialized workforce.
- Monitoring assigned crews for safe, productive and quality work practices.
- Executing scopes of work in alignment with regional objectives and procedures.
- Meeting timelines and maintaining good customer relations.
- Reviewing, authorizing, validating and tracking assigned work scopes and scope changes at the field level.
- Provide safety leadership and direction for the elimination of injuries, accidents and performance errors.
- Oversee programs and processes that affect the performance of the distribution power grid.
- Provide leadership and oversight in the administration of Human resources policies, and discipline of bargaining unit employees.
- Provide technical support to internal /external departments such as Grid Operations, Engineering, Distribution Automation, TS&S, RPPM and DCM.
- Partner with Technical Support and Strategy (TS&S), TD Safety, Alhambra and Chino Training School to develop well defined safety and work processes that support efficiency and best practices.
- Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
- Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Must have minimum of one or more years of combined experience in supervisory and/or leadership role.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Desired qualifications
- One or more years of combined experience collaborating or leading resource projects and/or project planning (i.e. process improvement projects, technology and innovation projects, etc.)
- Associate Degree
- Eight or more years' experience performing and/or supervising activities related to the inspection and repairs, routine and emergency testing, and maintenance of distribution apparatus equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with GO165.
- Demonstrated experience working with bargaining unit employees in the application of the union bargaining agreement and the handling of labor relations and diversity issues.
