Department Overview

PG&E Academy Operations is a dynamic group within PG&E Academy that focuses on strategically aligning itself with the vision of each internal learning track with a goal to support the increase of employee safety and productivity by designing, developing and delivering world class learning and on the job support solutions. We are seeking team members who can thrive with little supervision in a fast paced environment that is undergoing change. Position Summary

Under the direction of the Academy Technical Training Delivery Manger, the Learning and Development Specialist will utilize project management tools to coordinate enterprise-wide learning implementation efforts while focusing on end to end business process improvement. This requires a strategic and interactive partnership with PG&E leaders, delegates, and employees in order to align the Operation team's goals, vision and values to those of the Academy and the organization as a whole.  This position will be based in Livermore, CA and will include travel up to 25 % throughout PG&E's service territory.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategize with Academy leadership to plan, forecast and implement enterprise-wide trainingprograms for one or more Lines of Business (LOB)

  • Coordinate training initiatives to include all logistics, included but not limited to: booking training facility, creation of courses and sessions and managing enrollment in our SAP Learning Management System (LMS), overseeing materials management, and assigning key resources

    (both internal and external) to facilitate at local training sites or at a remote location

  • Demonstrate analytical, problem solving, organization and follow up skills to ensure training efficiency and accurate departmental metrics are reported

  • Maintain the integrity of training data within a LMS by developing and enforcing quality control through new governance processes and procedures

  • Provide cost analysis support by gathering data to be utilized in Line Item Pricing tool and tracking material costs as needed as well as tracking Academy cost savings
  • Work with Curriculum Development teams to oversee print material from start to finish
  • Provide upfront consulting guidance to Curriculum Development team advising on appropriate learning delivery methods and operational capabilities
  • Actively promote the use of more efficient, automated processes to our clients through Continuous Improvement efforts to ensure seamless operational support within the Academy and a consistent,centralized business approach for the enterprise
  • Manage Third Party training end to end process from inquiries, contracts, to invoicing
  • Ensure apprentice program compliance with the state, assist in preparation for JATC meetings,partner with apprentice program coordinators to ensure field training efforts are successful where applicable
  • Ability to understand, maintain and communicate on mandated compliance requirements (Federal, Local and internal) for one or more utility specific technical schools
  • Establish and maintain service level agreements between Academy Training Delivery and our LOB clients by the development of team metrics and continuous process improvement.
  • Provide leadership and training to learning coordinator support team members to accomplish PG&E Academy and enterprise business objectives
  • Participate in ad hoc project requests as needed

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Learning, Business Administration, Computer Science or related fields or

    equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the learning field

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds

Desired:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within a training organization
  • Ability to provide support and business intelligence for training related forecasts and reports
  • Experience with SAP Business Warehouse, Business Objects or similar business intelligence tools
  • Experience with Primavera or similar project planning tools
  • Experience in a managerial or leadership role
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement tools/methodology, with proven demonstration of initiating process improvement in past roles
