The EHS / Process Engineer develops and implements production / processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner. Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters. Responsible for all aspects of the Environmental and Safety programs. Manages safety compliance, reporting, ( state and federal ) safety actions and investigations.
Essential Functions:
- Manages maintenance and other capital or expensed projects for the Leominster facility, including but not limited to the electrical system, HVAC, lighting etc.
- Evaluates existing process equipment and recommends partial (component) or a complete upgrade with appropriate justification.Maintains knowledge of latest industry developments and techniques relative to facilities maintenance and production equipment.
- Works with Engineering/ Purchasing in the selection of outside sources for equipment and installation.
- May supervise outside contractors to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with agreed upon specifications on time and within budgeted guidelines.
- Participates in cost reduction projects.
- Ensures physical protection of the facility to include fire suppression systems and fire and burglary alarm systems.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws pertaining to environmental regulations and the disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Communicates with appropriate governmental agencies in the submission of applicable reports and procurement of proper permits for plant operations and the safekeeping of all documents relating to such activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: 4 yr degree (Perferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering)
- 3 - 5 yrs in related field/Manufacturing experience
- Exceptional communication skills
- Flexible/comfortable with fast paced working environment
- MS Office and AS 400 benefical
- Excellent Excel skills benefical
- Perform under pressure
- Adaptability to change
- Ability to be a fast/quick learner and apply immediately
- High energy/motivation required
