Siemens is currently looking for a Lean Specialist for Trench Limited (a Siemens company). The Trench group is a specialized manufacturer of high voltage equipment dedicated to serving the worldwide electrical industry, in both utility and industrial markets, through engineering, service and commitment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior team members to identify needs/objectives and plan/execute programs within a lean/continuous improvement context 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the lean strategy throughout the organization 
  • Provide support in developing and maintaining metrics and performance indicators and documenting linkages between lean implementation and operational process improvements 
  • Assist internal project teams in the identification design and delivery of process improvement initiatives 
  • Assist maintenance team in review and improvement of maintenance management system 
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • University degree or Technologist Diploma in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred 
  • 0-2 years' experience in Industrial Engineering or Process Engineering in a manufacturing environment is required 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, exhibiting a strong sense of urgency 
  • Capability with implementing daily tasks and weekly audits 
  • Proficient with project management tools and software with an ability to manage projects to completion, knowledge of the principals underlying TQM, Six Sigma or Lean is an asset 
  • Advanced analytical skills 
  • Knowledge and familiarity with SAP is a definite asset 
  • Knowledge and familiarity with MP2, CMMS is an asset
