Description
Silver Spring Networks is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will be utilizing customer data and our internal analytics tool (Operations Optimizer) to give our customers real time solutions to their energy efficiency issues. You will also be responsible for creating new customer offerings and/or developing new analytics that impact the customers' bottom line. In this position, you will play a key role in providing actionable data insights to our customers that they can immediately turn around to help them reduce instances of theft, energy inefficiencies, and other pressing concerns. This is the ideal position for someone with a math, engineering, data science, or physics background who is interested in using data to solve problems.
What will you be responsible for, exactly?
- Manage one or more data analytics projects ensuring on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction (25%)
- Be an expert on Operations Optimizer, our internal data analytics too, data, algorithms and configurability (25%)
- Assist and/or train customers on the use of Operations Optimizer (45%)
- Develop new algorithms based on customer input (5%)
A qualified candidate will demonstrate:
- A self-starter attitude and have minimal need for outside motivation
- A desire to solve open ended or loosely specified problems
- The ability to listen to customer requests and turn those requests into software tools
- A curiosity about data and what might be done with it
What you've got to bring to the table:
- BS/BA degree in Math, Physics, Engineering or Data Science or equivalent experience
- Experience in a work environment is required (prior internship or full-time role)
- Competency with SQL is preferred but not required
- This position involves customer interaction - people skills are a must
- Ability to travel to up to 25% of the time
