Description
This is a leadership position within the manufacturing organization responsible for developing a master production schedule that achieves our cost, quality, and revenue targets and ensures on-time delivery to customer requests. This position requires technical skills to support the master production scheduling process in Oracle and business acumen and strategic agility to effectively manage customer and supplier interactions. We work in a fast pace, high growth business, with rapidly evolving systems and processes, so we are looking for an individual with demonstrated passion for building new processes and systems to streamline planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze the demand and supply balance at the product family and master schedule levels, determining out-of-balance conditions, identifying alternatives, and recommending action for approval.
- Manage interactions with meter integration partners and utility customers to capture customer demand and communicate supply plans to satisfy requirements
- Drive and support system enhancement initiatives (business requirements definition, test case creation, test case execution)
- Balance the competing requirements of level loading our contract manufacturer's plant while satisfying customer demands
- Manage customer requests for lead time commitments, working with and driving Contract Manufacturers to meet customer requested shipment dates
- Manage the forecast consumption process to ensure an accurate reflection of demand (backlog plus forecast) in the system at all times
- Manage material requests to support engineering and development requirements.
- Coordinate schedule alignment with product core teams for new product introduction to ensure accurate customer commitments for initial product launch
- Understand new product introduction roadmaps to manage product transitions and ECO cut-in process
- Analyze and ensure manufacturing readiness for demand uncertainty (upside and downside risks); partner with Supply Chain Management to ensure Contract Manufacturer flexibility while meeting contractual obligations
- Understand the financial implications of the master production schedule and drive alignment with Finance on the standards setting process
- Manage the sales order backlog and ensure proper reflection of schedule ship dates at all times.
- Generate and publish On Time Shipment metrics, summarizing key issues / challenges; ensure corrective actions are put in place to address issues.
- Drive on-time ship performance to meet or exceed goal
- Identify, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity
- Assist Demand Management in setting priorities when demand outstrips supply of products or the resources necessary to build the requested product.
Qualifications
- Oracle knowledge & experience a plus
- 7+ years planning experience
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional Certifications a plus (e.g. APICS [CPIM or CSCP])
- Four-year degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- Able to multi-task in an energy-charged, fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical and capable of communicating effectively with customers and employees in different departments.
- Willing to challenge ideas and drive action to mitigate issues that may prevent the company from satisfying our customer's requirements.
- Person must maintain stability in operations in the face of naturally fluctuating customer demand
- Demonstrated ability to build new processes and leverage ERP technology to streamline planning processes
- Must possess strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup and sumif formula building, etc)
