YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

Provide engineering design tools and engineering data integration solutions for plant operational life cycles and project execution cycles for Canadian Natural Resources Limited.   You will define, configure, coordinate, and manage scope of work deliverables for Canadian Natural's Engineering Information Management (EIM) integration projects.

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and offers:

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

  • Coordinate software, database, and infrastructure upgrades and deployment
  • Recommend Canadian Natural Information Services and Engineering Information Management (EIM) integration to mitigate impact of upgrades and deployment
  • Investigate, asses and develop EIM system technology direction and solutions
  • Recommend system solutions to meet Canadian Natural business needs, with a focus on Horizon Oil Sands facility
  • Support EIM software applications and EIM integration to minimize impact on data flow
  • Resolve connectivity and configuration issues with Canadian Natural Information Services and EIM, and Canadian Natural Corporate Services to support EIM Major Projects and  Vendors
  • Coordinate preliminary project upgrade and deployment planning
  • Resolve emergency EIM software integration issues
  • Test and validate EIM software
  • Manage integration change management for EIM software
  • Recommend and communicate risk management issues for EIM software and integration projects
  • Support EIM Operations Team and Vendor Contractor software and technical deliverables
  • Analyze and configure EIM software and system functionality requirements
  • Investigate issues, coordinate implementation of hot fixes, test, and support  EIM software
  • Recommend EIM software application prototype functionality and quality
  • Recommend EIM business test plans and acceptance criteria
  • Define software acceptance and QC test plans
  • Recommend software updates, services, and maintain the integrity of data integration
  • Provide orientation, support, and user identification for new Canadian Natural projects
  • Manage license requirements
  • Recommend integration and information workflow
  • Recommend integration quality control and assurance for operational life and project life cycles
  • Maintain the flow of data between internal and concurrent EIM processes
  • Contribute to integration scope of work project documentation and procedures that align and comply with EIM governing documents and Canadian Natural Corporate requirements
  • Travel to Operational Facilities to ensure Canadian Natural and EIM's requirements are met, as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years' experience in broad range Information Technology roles (experience as a DBA, Network & Server Administration)
  • Supporting engineering and/or plant operations facilities is an asset
  • Technical Diploma or Computer Science degree required
  • Additional preferred designations/technical certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Business Analyst (BA), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Development Experience: Visual Basic, C#, XML, SQL
  • SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
  • IS competencies: DBA, Server, IS architecture
  • Understanding of Engineering & Design concepts
  • Solid understanding of Communication, Change, and Risk management
