      Now we are looking for an Assistant Production Manager in Venlo.

      Assistant production manager work under the supervision of the production manager. He is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling of the manufacturing process. The assistant production manager monitors production of goods, ensures accurate amount is produced at the right quality and cost and provides administrative support to production staff. These objectives can't be realized without effective communication and a coaching leadership style towards the team.

      Responsibilities:

      1. Safety:

      • Train and re-train employees to make sure they are able to work safely and efficiently
      • Consequently control the use of safety gears and safety equipment
      • Report unsafe situations

      2. Quality:

      • Maintaining the LDM boards in the cells and delegate tasks to the right stakeholders (including follow-up)
      • Check standard work of employees and coach them in case of deviations
      • Check RVA's and red squares and use the available problem solving tools which are used to organize follow-up after having discovered the root cause

      3. Planning (Delivery and Production):

      • Maintain and adjust the personnel planning tool according to availability of the employees taking into consideration the planned order-load and the actual leadtime 
      • Train new staff on the right level of multi-skill to be able to create back-up in vase of absence of col-leagues
      • Discuss shopfloor planning with the planners in case of deviations (unexpected absence of staff, insufficient raw materials and/or equipment)
      • Daily focus on improvements to meet the set KPI's

      Supervision (15 - 20 employees):

      • Organize, monitor and coordinate the work of the employees
      • Monitor the progress and the quality
      • Advise on personnel matters and working conditions of the employees
      • Managerial style preferably coaching 
      • Discussing development plans with employees (functioneringsgesprekken)
      • Monitor illness rate
      • Ability to develop individuals by coaching

      The assistant production manager helps in providing the production process and schedule, overseeing quality control and ensuring products are produced on time or projects completed within the deadline. The assistant is also responsible for monitoring the use of equipment, helps in checking product standards and applying quality-control programs, liaising among different stakeholders, completing pa-perwork of the production manager and performing various tasks as assigned.

      • Problem solver and capable to think out-of-the-box

      • Strong communicator both bottom-up and top-down
      • Persistent and dominant on the right level and moment

      Education and working experience:

      • 5 - 7 years working experience in a comparable working environment
      • Technical background WTB / Electro / Process
      • Experience in working in a company of about 50 - 250 employees
      • Level of education HBO
      • Experienced in working in in a lean driven organization
