Position Objectives
The successful candidate will have the ability to conceptualize, design, test, and maintain new electric and electronic equipment or systems for use in testing electricity meters or ancillary components, with an emphasis on the writing and debugging of firmware for products using embedded controllers.
Key Responsibilities
Be an integral part of project teams, attend meetings, and offer expertise when needed. This position will be responsible for ensuring consistent and timely execution of assigned design tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, design, and layout digital and analog circuity, as well as to produce efficient firmware using state machine principals, with languages such as assembler, C and variants, python, etc.
- Design and produce effective user interfaces using buttons, keypads, displays and beepers
- Understanding of basic analog signal processing functions such as filtering, averaging, root-mean-square, power, and appropriate numerical algorithms for same
- Read and understand complex specifications.
- Knowledge of or aptitude for learning AC power services, revenue grade metering configurations, meter types, circuit loading, power factor, and AC harmonics.
- Troubleshooting skills on the aforementioned components are a must.
- Working knowledge of digital and analog circuit design and analysis, including circuit simulation, programming, power consumption, and noise mitigation.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills - communications skills must be effective and courteous, requiring high integrity when dealing with internal and external personnel and potential customers.
- Strong organizational skills. Self-Motivated with ability to work with minimum supervision.

- Work with sales/marketing and occasional field trips to gain a better product use understanding and to help create new products
