Description
SUMMARY

Perform inspections, review test results, and other associated Quality/Production documents to ensure materials, products, and subassemblies conform to established requirements and specifications. Comply with all Quality Management System processes and procedures.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Share the responsibility of providing positive cash flow and profitability of the Company with all other employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Inspect, test, and/or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications.
  • Work with other inspectors/QA personnel to ensure assigned responsibilities are carried out consistently with the highest quality standards, as reflected in the Beckwith Quality Policy and ISO 9001 Quality Procedures.
  • Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented approach in working with internal customers to bring about process improvement
  • Support the ISO Administrator keeping Beckwith procedures current and consistent with evolving ISO standards, perform internal audits as needed and assist during external audits.
  • Support the ISO Administrator with any 3rd party or customer audits.
  • Support process or product improvement efforts using corrective and/or continuous improvement methods such as 5 Why's, 8D, Pareto Analysis, PFEMA.
  • Publish and display key statistical process data in traditional and "easy to understand" formats. Data must be trended to emphasize performance degradation or improvement.
  • Monitor inspection and test results for trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide information and support for the Quality Management Review process.
  • Work with various departments, (engineering, manufacturing, customer support, materials, planning, etc.) to ensure any issues are handled effectively.
  • Participate in the PCO process, coordinating with departments to assure timely resolution of identified problems.
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.

EQUPMENT/TOOLS

Calipers, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Pin Gauges, Hole Gauges, Micrometers, Screw Driver, Torque Drivers, Electric Screw Driver, UV Light Table, Microscope, Miscellaneous Mechanical Hardware, Soldering Iron, PC or equivalent and photocopier.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Associates degree in technical/quality related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment with quality/test responsibilities.

  • Familiarity with high tech (microprocessor-based) electronic products and the processes involved in their manufacture.
  • Understanding of organization and functioning of a technology based manufacturing business.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Responsive to both internal and external customers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interprets technical journals, safety requirements, operating instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or employees. Ability to write reports and give presentations that conform to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively communicate goals and objectives to customers and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference. Additionally must have the ability to apply concepts of Algebra, Trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in mathematical, written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Power Point and Dataflo
  • Work independently in resolving concerns expressed by customers and internal staff.
  • Ability to provide customer service and QC reports with minimal direction.
  • Experience with database administration and application.
  • Knowledge of SQL or equivalent in quality system experience is important.
  • Knowledge and understanding of tools/methods of process improvement.
  • Knowledge of IPC guidelines for workmanship/soldering and for printed circuit boards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
