MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BSEE or MSEE and 10+ years of work-related experience in the design of microprocessor-based protection and control devices for the electric power industry.
- Multiple disciplinary background in the real-world application of power system theory, the latest microprocessor architecture with communications, familiarity with the necessary applied mathematics and programming languages focused on the design of protection and control devices for the electric power industry.
- Broad background in complete product development cycle including: project documentation, analog and digital circuits design, board layout, design verification and analysis for safety and reliability, experience with signal and power integrity, proficient in use of simulation and modeling tools.
- Experience in team leading and management.
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support for all phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications and drawings.
- Translate conceptual design into a production-ready detailed design, including complete bills of materials, electrical schematics and PCB layout drawings.
- Proficient in Altium Designer software as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Troubleshoot, improve and optimize designs from prototypes to matured products.
- Create test cases and support lab engineers during product validation phase.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with industrial electronics and power systems.
- Experience with microprocessors, FPGAs, VHDL, DDR and flash memories.
- Background in I2C, SPI, RS232, USB and Ethernet interfaces.
- Experience in embedded C or C++ for board bring-up.
