Description
The primary responsibility of the Sales Engineer is to coordinate the commercial and technical evaluation of SEL products and services throughout the sales process. The Sales Engineer must be able to initiate contact with targeted customers, deliver product demonstrations, coordinate and drive sales opportunities thought the sales lifecycle, and travel assigned sales territory to establish and retain effective relationships with customers. Ideal candidate must be self-motivated, organized and analytical with more than five years of experience in the design, specification and commissioning of critical infrastructure and/or power system protection, control and automation. Comfortable traveling throughout assigned sales territory to deliver technical and commercial presentations to support a fast growing company to expand into commercial and industrial markets.

This position will be located at one of the following locations: Phoenix, Arizona or Irvine, California . The Sales Engineers is the primary technical and commercial resource for field sales forces, working in conjunction with application engineers, product managers and sales channels, you will be supporting a fast growing company to expand into commercial and industrial markets such as Water & Wastewater, Data Centers, Oil and Gas, Education, Healthcare, Renewable and Transportation. The Main Essential Duties Are:

  • Maintains and improve knowledge of critical infrastructure and/or power system protection, control and automation, and related SEL products and solutions.
  • Assists customers in the application of SEL products and solutions through direct interaction.
  • Executes sales plans to achieve individual and territorial sales goals. Drives sale opportunities thought the sales lifecycle.
  • Analyzes and interpret commercial and technical requirements to provide customers with commercial and technical proposal or respond to technical and commercial elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  • Measures, analyzes and reports interactions and data throughout the customer lifecycle to support customer retention and drive revenue grow.
  • Assists in the development of company sales and marketing plans in the assigned marketplace.
  • Understands and reinforce sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all customers
  • Participates in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meeting, industrial association meetings and conferences. Delivers commercial and technical presentations in customer meetings, industry technical meetings, technical and commercial trainings, product demonstrations.
  • Identifies, measures and improves marketing and sales processes.
  • Travels throughout assigned sales territory.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, specification and commissioning of critical infrastructure and/or power system protection, control and automation, or equivalent experience with Industrial control systems
  • 5+ years of experience in the protection, control or automation of power systems in any of the following industries: Water & Wastewater, Data Center, Oil and Gas, Renewables, Transportation or critical infrastructure
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics including one line diagrams, protection and control documents, bill of materials, protection and control schemes for various electrical components such as transformers, capacitor banks, motors and buses
  • Familiarized with power system studies such as reliability studies, protection coordination, load flow, short circuit studies and machine theory
  • Familiarized with cyber security concepts
  • Strong writing, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and direct daily work activities with limited supervision
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned sales territory
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using SEL products or similar line of business
