The focus of this role will be to lead the transformation of the Mebane Plant to a Center of Excellence.

Requirements

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lean Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Develop / maintain Lean Trilogies with Value Stream Leaders and drive transformational change across the site
  • Lead and coordinate Lean Action Work Outs utilizing internal and external resources including Lean Coaches / Sensei's
  • Lead operational focus team of margin expansion project with C-level leadership support / exposure
  • Create and lead Kaizen and Moonshine lean teams, drive daily continuous improvement projects
  • Be responsible for manufacturing plans and execution of transformation projects, product development projects and localization projects
  • Be responsible for Manufacturing (MFG) labor cost estimates related to transformation, New Product Implementation (NPI), and localization projects, project investment, expense, and resource requirements
  • Provide detail execution schedules for MFG plans and work with cross-functional teams to implement equipment, tooling, and processes to manufacture products and meet customer needs
  • Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB level

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in lean manufacturing including a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing with completion of a GE leadership program or equivalent leadership program (GE Employees Only)
  • Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) graduate (GE Employees Only)
  • Strong Lean background and experience transforming operations to flow cells / lines
  • Willingness and ability to be coached in lean methodology
  • Excellent project tracking and detailed planning skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a customer oriented mindset
  • Strong ability to work within a cross functional team and influence decisions
  • Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience implementing lean assembly, fabrication and materials processes
  • Prior experience in Design for Manufacturability ( DFM ) / Design for Assembly ( DFA )
  • Prior experience in an automated assembly plant
  • Be able to present Technical Information
  • Computer Aided Drafting ( CAD ) / Computer Aided Manufacturing ( CAM ) experience
