Description

We are looking to hire a Junior Electrical Designer who will work with the design team to create electronic (CAD) working plans, technical drawings, and documents for various projects. This individual will also be working closely with the electrical engineers, ensuring that all team members have a clear understanding of what will be created. As the Junior Electrical Designer gains experience and becomes more skilled in design, they will be responsible for more tasks such as preparing documentation packages and sets, and play a more prominent role in client support. Our team is dynamic and collaborative - if this description fits what you are looking for in your career, please apply

Responsibilities

  • Prepare electronic CAD working plans and technical drawings which are in compliance with electrical codes, industry standards, project standards and goals using AutoCAD.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Establish and modify personal work processes according to industry guidelines and procedures.
  • Identify that drawings meet specific dimensions, materials, and procedures outline, while correcting any deviations.
  • Work closely with design team members to ensure design documents are completed according to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with engineering team making any necessary alterations to documents.
  • Manage and report personal progress against planned project budgets and schedules.
  • Completion of other relevant duties as required.
Requirements

Experience & Academic Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology and/or relevant work experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical design would be an asset.
  • Eligible to become a member of the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) is an asset.
  • Experience working on technical projects and project budgets would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with industry codes/standards would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD, including 2D and 3D modeling functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents.
  • Working knowledge of 3D design software including (CADWorx, or AutoPLANT) software suites would be an asset.

Position Conditions
