EPCOR has one (1) full-time temporary (up to 18 months) position available!

The Consultant, Talent Management is accountable for the performance of Talent Management consultative functions across the business, providing advice and applying sound business judgement to strategic talent management recommendations, solutions and initiatives. This includes developing talent management strategies, project management of core talent programs, developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, continuously improving current processes and management tools for talent management and researching solutions for the company to drive the retention, development, and engagement of the workforce.

Detailed Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Management, the Consultant, Talent Management is accountable for:

  • Developing and maintaining robust programs related to retaining, engaging and developing employees. Programs include: performance management, succession planning, engagement, leadership development, and workforce planning,
  • Assisting with classroom learning programs facilitation in alignment with talent development standards and adult learning best practices.
  • Providing input into the Talent Management plans and strategy to meet the department and the business needs.
  • Providing program support for talent management initiatives.
  • Organizing and managing the annual leadership meeting.
  • Interpreting and delivering consolidated leadership assessment feedback and discussing development opportunities with participants.
  • Identifying the necessary budget requirements to support talent management initiatives.
  • Organizing and leading cross-functional teams within talent management programs. 
  • Supporting the human resources teams on various talent management programs, and providing talent management consultative advice and guidance to the business.
  • Participating in investigations involving violations of the respectful workplace policy.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing talent management processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related function.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a progressively responsible HR position, with at least 4 years specializing in talent management.
  • CHRP designation would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrable experience creating, implementing, and maintaining talent management programs, such as:
    • Performance management
    • Succession management
    • Engagement
    • Leadership development
    • Recognition programs
  • Demonstrated experience using the MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Experience with learning management systems (e.g. Oracle OLM) is a definite asset.
  • Effective at managing project schedules, including coordinating tasks and people resources.
  • Proven ability to align and build talent management tools and processes with strategic business objectives.
  • Effective contributor to projects involving the creation of tools and processes that support organization wide talent management.
  • Effective consultation skills to understand business requirements identify solutions and integrate with talent management tools and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external and internal client relationships and deliverables
Salary & Benefits

Jurisdiction: PROF

Hours of work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

  • To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required
