Job Description

  • Provide competent and efficient technical service to our blow molding customers for polyethylene resin selection, blow molding processing and blow molding equipment parameters to optimize their blow molding equipment.
  • Conduct blow molding trials at the customer's facilities while working in a safe manner.
  • Provide detailed customer call reports of customer blow molding trials, customer visits & trade shows.
  • Create blow molding processing guides & physical property data sheets for our polyethylene resins.
  • Possess knowledge of competitive blow molding polyethylene resins.
  • Possess knowledge of test methods for polyethylene & blow molded polyethylene parts.
  • Possess knowledge of polyethylene for IBM & EBM applications.
  • Utilize the knowledge of the blow molding equipment manufactures to optimize the performance of our products on the customers blow molding equipment.
  • Investigate customer complaints & issues using techniques such as Six Sigma methodology to get to the cause of challenging issues both externally & internally.
  • Champion blow molding customer's needs & issues with marketing & manufacturing.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to sales & marketing teams on a regular basis.
  • Develop relationships with pipe equipment & accessory suppliers.
  • Apprehend the current trends in blow molding technology and deliver this knowledge to our blow molding customers.  Stay current with new technology in blow molding structures and relate to our customers, thus enabling Shell to provide leadership in pipe technology.
  • Be able to identify additional resources to help resolve internal or customer issues.
  • Train engineers & technologist on processing polyethylene & other resins on blow molding equipment.
  • Develop & provide technical training on blow molding & polymer science for our customers.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by complying with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel, up to 50%.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in polymer material science, polymer product engineering and/or chemistry/chemical engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in Polyethylene in the area of product application technical service and/or product R&D preferably with a major producer, distributor, or polyethylene converter. Experience needs to be of recent nature.
  • Proven expertise in high density polyethylene blow molding technology with required exposure to Ineos & Unipol polyethylene resins.  Must not have any legal restrictions working with Ineos high density polyethylene technology.
  • Familiarity with Kautex, Uniloy & Graham wheel blow molding equipment.
  • Strong preference for projects which require trouble shooting customer issues.
  • Strong understanding of quality & six sigma.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Familiarity with Kautex, Uniloy & Graham wheel blow molding equipment.
  • Proven ability to interface with a broad spectrum of stakeholders including operations staff, commercial staff, and polyethylene customers.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal, technical writing & presenting
  • Proven ability to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
