EPCOR has an exciting opportunity for a new graduate looking to start their career in a challenging position in our Management Development Program. 

EPCOR has one (1) full-time permanent position available in Edmonton, AB (to be filled in January or May 2018)

The successful candidate will join EPCOR as a Financial Analyst and member of the EPCOR Finance team.  This innovative program provides on-the-job and in-house training, formal mentorship, and other educational support that will prepare the candidate for challenging assignments within EPCOR Finance.   

Detailed Description

  • Rotational opportunities will be available in the following areas: Financial/Management Accounting, Operations Finance, and Internal Audit.
  • During the program, the participant will rotate through the above areas within the company spending at least nine months in each position.  This program provides a broad range of experiences where a wide range of skills will be utilized.  This could include analysis, design, project management, , operations, process improvements, policies, and systems. 
  • After completion of the three year program, and depending on the individual's skills and abilities, the candidate can apply for positions within EPCOR.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a 2-year Post-Secondary Diploma in accounting, however 4-year Business Degree with a specialization in accounting is preferred.
  • Previous work, volunteer, or extra-curricular experience utilizing technical or leadership abilities would be an asset.
  • Pursuit of an accounting designation - CPA is a requirement while in the rotational program.

Wage: $33.41 - $39.87

Hours of work: 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week

  • A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
  • If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks is required. Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law.  These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
  • A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criterion.
  • To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.
