Description
Shell is looking for a Demurrage Analyst for our Houston office, for an 18 month assignment. The position receives a modified set of benefits but has a definitive end date. In this position you will be able to:
- Advise Oil and Freight Traders, Supply and Global Trading Network focal points on the potential recovery of demurrage and other movement related expenses.
- Update relevant trading systems and be responsible to Trading Book Holder for this activity.
- Receive and negotiate (or reject) claims from Third Parties and Owners.
- Calculate any deviation and detention costs. Ensure these costs are recovered from the contracting party.
- Advise on and interpret Charter Party clauses and their effects in terms of legal liabilities and demurrage exposure.
- Notify Trading Managers/Traders/Contracts Unit when demurrage and lay time clauses in COA's, FSA's or charter parties are ambiguous or lead to profit leakage.
- Working with schedulers in identifying operational practices which lead to avoidable demurrage costs.
- Maintain a pro-active approach to the raising of and pursuit of claims, chase counter parties in respect of overdue monies and as required pursue face to face negotiations with third party or affiliate customers.
- Ensure all Global Trading internal deals and demurrage outstanding claims are calculated and processed efficiently.
- Timely and accurate update of RADAR demurrage portal, including the recording of root causes for all demurrage claims
- Liaise with Tradebook reconciliation and Finance reconciliation teams to ensure that final claim values are reflected in both the tradebook and SAP.
