Description
The HSEQ Manager is responsible for administering the company's health, safety and environmental procedures and for managing the company's quality program. 

Responsibilities and Job Duties

HSE Role- 

  • Using industry best practices this position will be responsible for the implementation of health, safety and environmental procedures for the company. 
  • Assist with HAZID, HAZOP review meetings. 
  • Ensures all safety/environmental policies and procedures are in compliance with all state and federal OSHA and EPA regulations. 
  • Plans, implements and manages programs to train management and employees in work site safety practices. 
  • Inspects work site locations to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. 
  • Reviews engineering drawings, plans and specifications from environmental and safety perspective during design and construction of the new facility. 
  • Supports corporate in gathering and distribution of related documents and other information, including communication with stakeholders, state and federal agencies and design engineers. 
  • Investigates all accidents and health concerns and communicates findings to appropriate departments, and workers compensation carrier in a timely manner. 
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers and MSDS information to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions. 
  • Compiles and submits accident and/or environmental reports required by corporation and regulatory agencies. 
  • Represents the Company in community or industrial safety groups and programs. 
  • Participate in and potentially lead the employee Safety Committee. 
  • Participate in Safety/Environmental audits at company locations. 
  • Ensure timely submittal, acquisition and maintenance of all environmental permits and reports to maintain compliance with all state and federal requirement. 
  • Advise and oversee performance against the company's annual compliance calendar. 
  • Responsible for researching and determining correct PPE for sites and maintaining appropriate levels of stock. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management. 
  • Quality Role- 
  • Maintain and develop effective quality management systems for the company. 
  • Ensure effective systems are maintained for the identification, appraisal and fulfillment of client quality requirements. 
  • Ensure effective systems are in place for planning, communication, corrective action, audit, review and training of company personnel. 
  • Perform audits company-wide using ISO methodologies. 
  • Assist in writing quality sections of client proposals. 
  • Conduct training sessions aimed at improving quality program. 
  • Conduct RAM (Reliability, Availability & Maintainability) Analysis. 
  • Conduct SEMS (Safety & Environmental Management Systems) audits. 
  • Conduct PRM (Project Risk Management) reviews. 
  • Ensure company quality program maintains compliance with existing and future legislation.
Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health or related technical field. 
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in a HSEQ role. 
  • Requires proven experience developing Quality and HSE programs. 
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of HAZOP, HAZID processes. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively deal with all levels of EDG employees. 
  • Must have strong training, coaching and presentation skills. 
  • Must have the ability to explain technical safety concepts in simple terms. 
  • Must have a proven ability to collaborate with others and influence results through management staff. 
  • Must possess a high level of organizational and prioritization skills. 
  • Intermediate to advanced skill levels in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. ISN experiences a plus. 
  • Must be able to periodically travel both domestic and internationally as required 
  • CSP or other Occupational Health-Safety and/or accredited professional certification strongly preferred. 
  • ASQ or equivalent accredited professional certification strongly preferred. 

Working Conditions: 

  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations. 
  • Field duties require outdoor work in a plant or offshore platform atmosphere; 
  • Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel; 
  • Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels; 
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection; 
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes; 
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds; 
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively; 
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations; 
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties; 
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
