Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop validation and verification methods and test plans at a unit, sub-system and vehicle level to validate performance and functional requirements are satisfied.
- Analyze vehicle data from test and customer vehicles to investigate, identify, and resolve issues and performance complaints.
- Define system level and algorithm requirements to meet product performance and reliability requirements. Help define and improve systems engineering standards and processes.
- Execute technical deliverables within product development process. Lead completion of technical deliverables at the "Major Repeater" risk classification. Use standard engineering tools and processes (e.g. FMEA, FTA) to ensure product reliability and quality targets are achieved.
- Perform/support vehicle modeling and simulation activities to predict performance and impact due to hardware variability. Support prototype and production OEM vehicle integration and development efforts from the powertrain controls perspective (e.g., configuration, calibration and drivability).
- Conduct design reviews for project approval and participate as a design review consultant for other projects within the engineering department.
- Verify solutions created by you or other team members through simulation, sub-system and vehicle level testing and document results with a technical report.
- Direct and support other engineering resources for timely completion of project objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering role.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Broad life-cycle experience: requirements analysis through system development testing, verification, and lifecycle documentation
- Basic understanding of driveline functionality and components.
- Basic understanding of project management processes
- Background and experience in electro-mechanical systems required, preferably in the automotive industries
- Experience with DOORS software is highly desirable
- The ideal candidate would have strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck or automotive drivetrain/powertrain systems and/or components.
- Experience in system analysis, programming, driveline knowledge, and analytical modeling.
- Experience with data acquisition tools and Matlab Simulink.
