Description
The Carolina East Transmission Work Management Area Coordinator position will manage and direct the area work plan for Project and Maintenance hands on work activities. This position will interface with all project sponsors including Distribution, Transmission, Generation, external customers, project stakeholders including the ECC, DCC, and all others being impacted by the work being performed. This position is responsible for optimizing all hands on work activities within the geographic area of responsibility. This position requires strong leadership abilities, communication skills, and technical expertise. 

Please Note: This position will be located one of Transmission facilities in Carolina East depending of the candidates that apply. 

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and direct the creation of the area work plan, including all Construction and Maintenance work activities. 
  • Provide tactical direction to the area Planners and Schedulers. 
  • Ensure coordination of all outage activities with the ECC and DCC for respective area 
  • Provided tactical direction for the completion of NERC related work orders by the PM due date 
  • Efficiently allocate resources and equipment, both internal and contracted 
  • Facilitate area work planning meetings, Identifying potential work bundling opportunities and coordinating joint Construction and Maintenance project activities 
  • Document potential and actual economic savings 
  • Ensure that all materials, equipment, and special vehicles requests are coordinated efficiently and economically 
  • Develop work plans to reduce Maintenance work order backlog 
  • Develop repair plans and schedules for fail equipment for respective area 
  • Coordinate the completion of Asset Management sponsored projects 
  • Coordinate Generation Plant outage support and develop integrated outage support schedule 
  • Provide project and maintenance activity status updates as required, including Work Management Quarterly QBRs. 
  • Represent the Maintenance Group in Project Development meetings 
  • Attend project team meetings including field evaluations and condition assessments as needed 
  • Single point of contact for all area external and internal customer work requests 
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate all hands on work activities within their assigned area 
Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school in Business, IT, Electrical, or Other and 7-9 Years of prior work related experience OR 9-11 Years of prior equivalent work related experience in lieu of a degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to Coordinate Transmission C&M Projects activities: Clarifies project scope, identifies and assigns required construction and maintenance resources, develops work sequence, identifies mobile equipment/temporary equipment needs, identifies potential obstacles to completing the project, identifies clearance requirements, and makes initial resource assignments. 
  • Ability to create, process and store work management documentation using computer systems and programs, experience using MS Office Software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to function effectively in a diverse support organization.
