Description
The Operator will be proficient and experienced at operating equipment with moderate supervision. The Operator will have mastered the Excavator and Dozer.
Must be Local to Edmonton, No camp/LOA/travel.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain heavy duty construction equipment including wheel loaders, tractor backhoes, and excavators
- Excavate, backfill, and compact trenches with depths of up to 8 meters
- Level, load, lift, and haul various types of materials
- Carry out daily lubrication needs, minor maintenance and inspection of equipment on a daily basis and report deficiencies
- Fill out daily work sheets and make safety checks
- Operate specialized equipment for the installation and maintenance of pipeline systems.
- Responsible for stripping topsoil, cleaning up operations and replacing topsoil.
- Clearing, grading, restoring, digging, backfilling and compacting trenches
- May use equipment to hoist, cradle and place pipe and other equipment.
- Troubleshoot and communicate equipment performance with mechanics.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
- Facilitates and adheres to safety procedures and policies and reports safety violations
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
Experience:
- Completion of twelfth (12th) school grade or GED
- Experience operating heavy duty construction equipment; experience excavating around utilities and Drainage infrastructure is preferred
- 1-3 years' experience in years of field civil and mechanical experience in the pipeline construction industry.
- Experience on large industrial and pipeline projects
