Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Associate Compliance Engineer. Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the effort to ensure SEL products, processes, and facilities, and comply with applicable industry safety.
  • Research and develop SEL standards and guidelines for product safety.
  • Research and equip SEL laboratories to perform safety and type tests.
  • Train SEL engineers and technicians on industry standards, SEL procedures, and test equipment operation.
  • Oversee and supervise testing at offsite/outsourced test facilities.
  • Lead and conduct type tests.
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related background or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the area of Compliance Engineering, with knowledge of UL, CE, CSA, IEEE and IEC Standards
  • Expertise of common compliance related test equipment, test chambers and testing practices.
  • Self-motivated/self-starter
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve compliance test issues and problems
  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate leadership knowledge and training skills
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)
