Description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for contributing to financial analysis, data management, and management reporting as necessary to provide all ISO and bilateral financial information to Cooperative Energy management. Conducts research to support ISO settlement and charge validation. Monitors, investigates, reports and recommends strategy as a result of MISO operations for Cooperative Energy.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects, organizes, and summarizes all ISO charge codes on a daily basis for Cooperative Energy.
  • Develops internally-generated ISO invoices weekly.
  • Compares internally-generated ISO invoices to actual ISO invoices and reconciles any discrepancies.
  • Contributes to Cooperative Energy Accounting and Finance Teams weekly and monthly reports for required RUS reporting.
  • Provides information necessary for validating FERC-required quarterly transaction reporting (EQR).
  • Produces unit-specific revenue reports for all Cooperative Energy electrical generating units and bilateral sales to the ISO.
  • Evaluates daily revenues and variable margin estimates for all ISO sales and purchases in the Day Ahead and Real-Time Market transactions.
  • Compiles reports for Cooperative Energy Accounting and Finance for large, industrial customers who sell excess generation to Cooperative Energy.
  • Reviews prior day generating unit financial results with feedback loops for Power Market Coordinators to potentially modify unit bidding strategies.
  • Researches MISO charges to resolve potential conflicts, and makes recommendations on making MISO filing disputes where applicable
  • Assists with maintaining and developing additional processes to recommend future market rule changes for MISO through idea submission with applicable Committee(s).
  • Researches and advances in-house knowledge, systems, and processes for the efficient monitoring and evaluation of every Commitment Period and Make-Whole-Payment mechanism for which Cooperative Energy may be eligible.
  • Communicates with third-party market support staff as applicable.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Systems Or
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Or Related FieldEx

Experience:

  • Entry level position

Certification and Licensures:

  • Successfully pass a security sensitive background screening - Required
  • Valid Mississippi Driver's License - Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint with advanced, complex Excel skills.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial, numerical and statistical data.
  • Advanced, working knowledge of either Visual Basic or SQL.
