Responsible for Implementing strategies focus around Power Distribution and Controls Assembly products. Build and leverage synergies between various commercial distribution and power distribution products. Provides leadership in the development of Motor Control Centre, Medium voltage Switches and GIS products for PDCAD division. Works closely with teammates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various PDCAD facilities in North America for New Product Developments, Cost  out, sustaining and application engineering projects. Build Organization Capabilities - Hire and development plans for the talents for PDCAD business division

Essential Functions:

  • Manages diverse product teams from multiple locations. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long term goals.
  • Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables.
  • Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team.
  • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Electrical and mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for "PDCAD" Engineers and related COE team at EIEC to develop innovative electrical and mechanical designs for electrical Equipment to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
  • Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
  • Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs.
  • Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
  • Develop and control the schedule and direct the work in order to effectively manage time.
  • Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities.
  • Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
  • Utilizes DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements
  • Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX Green belt certifications for EIIC engineering community.
  • Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology.

Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

  • BE/ME in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  •  to 15 years of design experience with electromechanical systems. Minimum two year experience as "Manager of People".
  • Should have sound knowledge in switchgear products like Circuit breakers, Electrical panels, MCC, PCC,  RMU, ATS, Capacitors.
  • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Electrical and mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering.
  • Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain. Review and approve design proposals based on requirements/statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers.
  • Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design in line with present and future business needs.
  • Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders.
  • Participate in the creation of technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization's capability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.
  • Manage and develop talent: identifies, attracts and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
  • Drive employee survey action plans to attain high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness.
  • Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent disclosures and high-impact ideas.
