Linemen with Novinium are trained to use our patented and industry leading iUPR and SPR injection processes.
Linemen with Novinium utilize their skills to repair and rejuvenate medium to high voltage underground cables using our patented technology and processes. Repairs with our injection technology means no poles to climb and only one-third the exposure to energized primary equipment as compared to traditional line work. Novinium Linemen can be based anywhere in the U.S. and travel from their home to the worksite. The company pays travel expenses and offers a per diem.
Responsibilities:
- Works safely with no electrical contact incidents or personal injuries
- Enhances and advances a below zero incident safety culture and behavior
- Responsible for the safety of all people at a worksite
- Operate TDR waveform and RF locating equipment to perform cable testing and analysis of cable paths, splice locations and neutral corrosion
- Place and operate cable injection equipment on de-energized and energized cables in transformers, switchgear, junction boxes and at other cable end points
- Perform air flow tests
- Set up injection equipment
- Prepare cable for injection activities, including electrical craftwork according to quality standards
- Inject URD and feeder cables with Novinium patented repair/rejuvenation fluids using sustained and un-sustained rejuvenation technologies
- Switch medium voltage electrical circuits
- Write and implement cable switching orders, manage switching contact with circuit owner
- Assists Team Leader with job planning and hazard avoidance
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Essential Requirements:
- Two or more years of relevant work experience as a Journeyman Lineman, Class A Lineman, Class B Lineman, First Class Power Lineman, or Cable Splicer with a current certification or documentation
- Experience with underground line work, including URD systems and cables, fault location and repair, and switching
- Strong Lineman underground craftwork skills, including inline splices, terminations and elbows
- Ability to read circuit maps
- Basic computer skills and entry level proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, internet/web)
- Safe work record and a firm commitment to safety
- Valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record
- Able and willing to travel on a regular basis
- Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 ft.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing and walking, and exposure to seasonal elements
- May be required to stand, kneel and work in confined spaces for an extended period of time, and must be able to fit into a confined space rescue harness
- Able to conduct digging operations as required
