Description
The Electrical Designer is responsible for the technical excellence of electrical designing activities. The successful incumbent must have well step-out experience and will need to work collaboratively with other drafters and designers in order to achieve optimal project outcome. In addition, working as an integral part of the Kleinfelder team, this individual must have a positive attitude, be a team player and be able to meet demanding deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Complete electrical design work while working under demanding deadlines.
  • Complete electrical drafting & design activities on multiple energy industry projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Provide support to other drafters and designers on related work.
  • Follow company and client guidelines to ensure that drawings are in compliance with specifications and scope.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other designers and drafters in order to achieve optimal project outcome.
  • Other related duties as required.
Requirements

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of Canadian experience in Electrical Design and Drafting.
  • NEC experience is an asset.
  • Electrical systems designs (low and medium voltage utility & backup / standby power distribution, fire detection and alarm systems, lighting calculations, grounding. Voltage drop calculations, cable tray fill calculations, etc.)
  • Well versed in single line diagrams, area classification drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, JB layouts, and grounding layouts
  • Previous SAGD wellpad and MI heat tracing experience using CompuTrace
  • AutoCAD experience
  • 3D modeling and cable tray layout experience
