Description
The HR Generalist reports to the CHRO and is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with HR management and the Operations Team in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations and communication, policy implementation, and employment law compliance, and provides training to operations leadership in these areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice and counsel to managers regarding personnel practices, policy, and employment laws.
- Investigate employee relations issues, interpret findings and make recommendations to resolve issues.
- Assist management with handling and preparation of corrective actions.
- Facilitate and apply interventions to resolve low risk employee disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings if needed.
- Work with CHRO to develop and facilitate communications programs to enhance corporate culture.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Maintain required documentation, including investigative notes, supporting documents, and final reports.
- Recommend changes to HR policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Explain company policies, procedures and governmental regulations to all levels of management.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience.
- Experience dealing with complex employee relation issues
- Proficient knowledge of employment, wage and hour, FMLA and EEO laws.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Training facilitation skills
- Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Knowledgeable user of HRIS systems - Bamboo experience a plus
- Location - Greater Seattle Area
- Travel to the Dallas area one week per month
