Description

Manage the activities and staff of the field and customer facing engineering team, ensuring effective engineering support of operations and sales activities, continual improvement of company operating procedures, and rollout plans for new product lines and process improvements. Further to direct, quantify, and prioritize customer facing issues and questions into the engineering department.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plans to assure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions
  • Review existing engineering criteria and procedures to identify necessary revisions
  • Supervise and train team members as necessary
  • Conduct Failure Analysis and evaluate, report, and present data
  • Communicate with Engineering department to discuss technical issues and delegate tasks or projects
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and support documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to internal, external, and customer standards.
  • Compile data and project summary documents and engineering studies.
  • Inspect electrical craftwork work for quality control and assurance
  • Inspect equipment or materials to identify the causes of errors or defects
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience designing, building and testing electrical systems
  • 5 Years' experience managing engineering teams
  • Strongly preferred - Experience in utility industry working with medium voltage systems
  • Customer support experience required
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
  • CAD experience preferred (Solidworks or AutoCAD)

 Working Conditions

This position works in a typical office environment.
Up to 30% travel required.
