Description
Eaton's Power Motion Control division is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer.  The Senior Quality Engineer will be based at our Eden Prairie, MN facility. 

Position Overview :

Lead the continuous improvement activities in all areas of manufacturing in support of the Eaton Quality System (EQS) and the Eaton Business System (EBS). Drive the day-to-day plant improvement activities. Direct and lead the activities of warranty analysts           

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Act as the primary contact for customers regarding product quality issues including attending business review meetings and providing corrective actions as appropriate
  • Direct and lead the activities of warrant analysts in the failure analysis of returns
  • Participate on APQP and other cross-functional teams and provide input to the requirements for the review and approval of nlew or modified products, new or modified purchased components and new or modified processes.  Review and approve completed PPAPs.
  • Analyze internal and external quality loss data such as customer complaints, warranty, scrap, and first pass yield to ensure corrective actions are assigned as appropriate
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional problem solving teams
  • Obtain customer approvals as required by customer and internal requirements for modified products and processes
  • Act as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) determining dispositions for nonconforming product
  • Provide oversight and guidance to suppliers on non-conformances.  Review and approve supplier corrective actions
  • Provide statistical process control expertise and overall technical quality instruction and training to plant and division as needed.
  • Assist with the creation, development, and implementation of company processes and procedures
  • Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Ability to work in the US without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proven ability to solve problems utilizing common problem solving methodologies/tools such as PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, is/is not tables, pareto charts, control charts, etc.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects
  • Proven ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Proven ability to query and manipulate data using MS Excel, MS Access, Minitab, and/or other programs and transform the data into information
  • Proven ability to write technical documents such as procedures and specifications
  • ISO9001 or TS16949 Experience
  • Experience in supervision for one year
  • Good understanding of lean concepts, principles & tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Pull Systems and Standardized Work.
  • Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification.
