Description

Eaton's Vehicle Group has an opening for an Engineering Technician to support various build and test lab activities. The Engineering Technician will be based in our Marshall, MI facility

Job Overview:

The primary focus of this position will be to work within a lab environment supporting engineering prototype, development, and validation test activities.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assisting with assembly of sample prototype builds. 
  • Assembling prototype test unit, conduct specific unit testing, and complete teardown analysis. 
  • Executing component testing and related data analysis. 
  • Using hand tools, inspection and layout equipment including Dial Indicators, Micrometer
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine, Balancing Machine, Profilometer - Surface Finish, Optical
  • Comparator, Material Hardness, Spring Force, and Welding. 
  • Supporting campus EHS, material and quality control activities including - LOTO, safety action items, part inventory and storage, and other items as necessary. 
  • Championing process change to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization within the lab.
Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree with two (2) years' of engineering, laboratory, automotive or mechanical experience OR High School diploma /GED certification with six (6) years' experience in engineering, laboratory, automotive, mechanical role.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company Sponsorship. 
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius from Marshall, MI will be considered for this position. 

Position Criteria: 

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office products. 
    Automotive mechanical knowledge and aptitude 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology
  • Automotive ASE Master Technician Certification 
  • Previous knowledge or training using inspection, layout, and measurement tools 
  • Previous experience building prototype samples, supporting development and validation testing, and analyzing/processing test data
