This position is based in our Calgary office.
Responsibilities
Serves as a lead focal point and assists in delivering key Industrial Information Technology (IIT) initiatives:

Reviews and manages the physical IIT network infrastructure and recommends improvements for the connectivity in a ISA99 complaint control system;

Works with third party vendors to co-ordinate and support the development of IIT infrastructure designs and applications; and

- Reviews, manages, maintains and operates software systems and services associated with the IIT environment as required.
Leads the identification of IIT infrastructure requirements:

Ensures all IIT infrastructure requirements are clearly and fully identified;

Uses knowledge of hardware, software, and network technologies to analyze and recommends infrastructure options for growth;

Ensures technology components are provided, integrated and maintained to support the plant operations; and
-

- Understands and ensures that new technology or services adhere to Brion Energy's IIT environment and control system standards.
Develops and maintains IIT standards:

Identifies and establishes IIT standards for development of on-going policies and procedures;
-
Identifies risks and prevents the compromise of information security and misuse of IIT resources;

Ensures all aspects of the IIT infrastructure systems are effectively documented and supports business objectives; and
-

- Develops and maintains IIT standards in support of new services and systems as required by Brion Energy Business initiatives.
Collaborates with the rest of the IS and Operations team:
- Provides technical guidance to support day to day IIT, Managed IT Services and Brion operations; and
- Provides technical guidance to Operations team as required.
Provides timely response to all user requests regarding technical support:
- Maintains positive communications and good working relationships with all employees;
- Acts as the primary contact for IIT requests and coordinates with the appropriate technical team/vendors to ensure proper resolution;
- Receives, tracks and prioritizes issues for resolution, resolving issues as expertise permits and/or escalating as required;
- Participates in any after hours work, as required; and
- Is available for extended Fort McMurray site or camp rotation.
Takes proactive steps to maintain and enhance overall integrity and functioning of IIT systems, services, infrastructure:
- Ensures system changes are planned and managed effectively;
- Pursues ongoing development of customer service skills, technical skills and product knowledge and identify areas for continuous improvement; and
- Troubleshoots, researches, tests, and/or coordinates installs, upgrades, and outages at remote sites as required.

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent certification or diploma and/or experience

- PPE/H2S Alive Safety Certifications
- Constructions Safety Training System (CSTS)
- Microsoft Certifications: MCSA - Windows Server 2008 / 2012
- Cisco Certifications: CCNA or CCNP Routing & Switching

- 5 years' experience in an IT department
- 3 years relevant experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Windows operating systems / Services and Cisco networking (VLANS, EIRGP/OSPF, and security)
- Previous experience working on SCADA, DCS, or PCN systems with a good understanding of process control network architecture
- Knowledge of NetApp SAN configuration, VMware and UCS technologies
- ITIL service and change management framework experience would an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with diverse personalities and work force
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to travel to site
