Major Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to assess their project requirements, needs and expectations for electrical distribution service installations and alterations;
- Prepare and review overhead and underground electrical distribution project designs, estimates and proposals ensuring that risks are mitigated and all technical and safety requirements are satisfied;
- Apply technical expertise of applicable standards (including CSA, CEC, & Utility distribution standards, etc) to comment on the work of other team members & facilitate practical, economical, and constructible designs;
- Share technical knowledge and support team members such as other distribution designers, engineering consultants and design supervisors in the delivery of projects;
- Provide exceptional customer service by proactively managing client expectations and resolving technical and project issues in a timely manner;
- Monitor and proactively control project budgets;
- Identify and assist in implementation of process improvements;
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng or P.L. status with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Four (4) years directly applicable experience in distribution design, streetlighting design, standards and/or project management, or we may use a progression arrangement that is not based on time but based on development and competencies;
- Excellent computer skills and proven proficiency in MS Office Suite;
- Experience with drafting and MicroStation (or Bentley products) are an asset.
