Main Accountabilities:
General:
Under general supervision, manage assignments and projects to completion. Develop industry specific skills, knowledge, and maturity. Develop understanding of DOT/PHMSA rules and company engineering and construction standards. Prioritize assigned tasks. Develop relationships with internal/external customers and contractors. Meet customer's needs and expectations in a timely manner. Work flexible hours when required to meet critical deadlines. Achieve annual performance objectives established with manager. Manage paper and electronic documents in accordance with company policies and standards. Provide mentoring to other Engineering Support Specialists. Participate in emergency response activities as needed. Support company operations during periods of labor unrest.
Process Support:
Perform quality assurance checks of assets being inserted into or modified in GIS and EAM. Assign appropriate preventive maintenance (PM) job plans to the applicable assets. Establish applicable target start dates on all new PM orders. Coordinate and facilitate GIS land base updates. Ensure the GIS geospatial system is updated for assigned area. Complete appropriate tasks as assigned in response to internal and external customer demands, including providing computer aided drafting (CAD) services, map development, report generation, and data querying. Provide basic GIS and EAM support to Field Operations and Engineering through system troubleshooting and management support in a technical role as required. Review and update franchise territory requests. Provide recommendations for application corrections, adaptations, and enhancements. Support updates and maintenance of maps and records, occasionally visit field locations, and coordinate all work with internal and external customers.
Project Planning & Management:
Manage assigned projects through completion to achieve budgetary, schedule, and business objectives. Report progress throughout the life of the assignment/project. Identify, secure, and manage resources (internal or external) required to complete assignments/ projects. Manage multiple assignments and priorities concurrently.

Engineering/Asset Management personnel, Marketing personnel, Operations personnel, External customers.
Essential:
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred:
Associate's degree in engineering, GIS, CAD, or similar technical field. Basic/fundamental certification or concentration in related technical field.
Work Experience:
Essential:
2 - 4 years utility or relevant industry experience.
Preferred:
Gas or electric utility environment. Competent with AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, enterprise asset management systems, or similar applications. Some knowledge of gas and/or electric distribution systems.
Functional/Technical Competency Requirements:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
