Description

In this job you will be operating and performing diversified tasks on a variety of automated electroplating and cleaning machines. You will be loading parts of a variety of shapes, sizes, and dimensions onto plating racks, later unloading the parts and entering loading information into a computer controlled system. Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and the full range of motion of both hands, arms, and torso on a regular and repetitive basis. You will be working in a team-based production environment where all jobs have a standard production rate and where you and your team members will be responsible for the quality of your work.

Other tasks associated with this job include but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspection of plated parts both visual and manually using a thickness tester.
  • Using computer keyboard for data entry.
Requirements

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • A working knowledge of shop math and elementary algebra.            
  • Ability to understand blueprints and to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to understand various metal alloys and the processes to clean and electroplate material surfaces.
  • Basic knowledge of computer keyboard to enter data.

Relevant Experience Required: Experience in a manufacturing environment; electroplating experience preferred One to three years.

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 10 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Walking: Occasional walking of moderate distances (<1/8 mile).
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of items weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Pushing: Occasional positioning of tub tilters and use of hand trucks to move part containers a moderate distance.
  • Pulling: Occasional positioning of tub tilters and use of hand trucks to move part containers a moderate distance.
  • Bending: Frequent bending to perform a variety of job tasks.
  • Reaching: Occasional reaching to load and unload parts from fixture in machine.
  • Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 30 lbs.
  • Other: Frequent use of computer keyboard.
