Description
The core responsibilities of the Solution Architect role will require a background in business analysis and software/systems engineering, preferably in the utility industry and with smart grid solutions. Preference may be given to candidates located or willing to relocate in select locations in New-Brunswick and Manitoba.

- Participate as a member of multi-disciplinary project teams in the execution of process design and implementation activities to achieve client objectives
- Facilitate and contribute to the identification and elaboration of customer business, functional and non-functional requirements, providing consultation to electricity utility project teams
- Translate existing and anticipated customer requirements into specific process, application and system designs for large/complex smart grid solutions
- Document current and target architectures using business process engineering and architecture modeling techniques
- Produce design artifacts as required, documenting solutions from various perspectives including functional, informational, communications, component and physical viewpoints
- Provide support in research, financial analysis and design activities
- Perform various analyses to support business decision-making
- Perform pre-sales support activities as needed including the development of project estimates
- Contribute to change activities needed to support solution architecture implementation activities
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related business fields
- Minimum of five(5) years of experience in a Solution Architecture role or related areas of expertise
- Experience with business process modeling (e.g. BPMN)
- Experience with architecture modeling processes and tools (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw, Visio, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in applying IT best practices and concepts on projects
- Experience in designing solutions in the utility industry and involving smart grid technologies will be considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Additional Languages of French/ German/ Spanish will be considered an asset
- Available for frequent domestic and some international travel
