Description
The Driver is responsible for performing all warehouse activities that supply H.B. Jaeger's customers. Ensures the receiving, storing, inventory accuracy, and shipment of materials. Will deliver materials to customer sites while providing excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive new materials ensuring the accuracy of what is received, both type of product and count, by reviewing and confirming purchase order. Prepares all documentation for outgoing shipments to customers. Monitors and maintains stock needed to supply customers and reorders as needed
- Assists customers at will-call counter as they pick up materials and order materials. Enters orders and invoices customer.
- Maintain integrity of the data in Inventory software and the physical count of inventory.
- Prepare and maintains documentation of all material received and shipped to customer.
- Prepares and records salvaged and disposal of recyclables waste from warehouse.
- Maintain a cleaned, safe, and clutter free environment in the warehouse.
- Receives new parts/materials other equipment, marks them with identifying information and stores materials in designated area.
- Fill requisitions, work orders and request for materials, tools, or other stock items.
- Operate forklift and/or hand truck to transport stored items or received shipments
- Examine and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Assists with branch deliveries to customer sites:
- Load customer orders to be delivered and ensures that load is secured safely and correctly
- Drives panel truck to customer site and unloads material using hand truck and dollies if necessary. Ensures that customer knows materials have been delivered and that the materials are correct.
- Cleans and restores delivery area before leaving customer site.
Duties are approximately 90% Driving and 10% Warehouse work.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 plus year of commercial driving experience.
- Previous experience driving a forklift preferred.
- Must hold a valid drivers' license. Regular license, Class C is fine.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, and follow and complete written and verbal instructions.
- Customer service skills; the ability to communicate with customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Computer skills, data entry skills. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Strong basic math skills for tracking inventory
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use a keyboard to enter and retrieve data.
