Key Responsibilities:
- Provide production CAD support.
- Responsible for the administrator of Price CAD software including Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit and in house developed engineering tools.
- Supply technical support for all CAD software.
- Serve as super user for Price Group of Companies engineering teams.
- Work with business systems team to organize and implement installations, upgrades and subsequent training for all CAD users.
- Responsible for setting up training and mentoring CAD users.
- Must be able to document and communicate training materials and work instructions.
- Provide training for new versions of software to current and new employees.
- Assist with setting up file structures and nomenclature standards.
- Maintain software inventory and licenses.
- Best practice development & adoption.
- Develop, implement and enforce CAD standards by working closely with the business systems, engineering and operation teams.
- Act as engineering's data champion for CAD and engineering systems initiatives.
- Put manual and system processes in place to ensure data integrity.
- Document and maintain content location and make sure all teams are using their right revisions.
- Assist users in finding drawing data and / or conversation of data into other formats.
- Develop and improve workflows and CAD processes to accommodate various group's needs, improve efficiency, or improve communication.
- Automate standardized processes through workflows, templates and other means.
- Working with Engineering Teams, Business Systems to provide leadership and vision for our corporate engineering systems.
- Responsible for coordinating engineering requirements, participating in strategic planning.
- Help pick and roll out future strategic systems.
- Generate written technology evaluations for future software adoption.
- Ensure existing and future CAD software implementations integrate with future PDM and ERP solutions.
- Provide point of contact for engineering teams when working with business systems teams
Requirements
- B.S or Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, combined with Computer Science or Information Technology preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in supporting engineering software systems.
- Experience supporting CAD users over multi formats of communication (Email, Phone, Go to Meeting, and In-person).
- Senior level knowledge of Solid Edge, Revit, AutoCAD, and Solid Works.
- Demonstrated ability in designing, Implementing and supporting engineering systems software including PDM & PLM software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize aligning with department and corporate goals in mind.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically while acting independently under management guidance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information.
- Proven ability to conduct presentations.
- Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
