Description
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for centralized Head Office accounts receivable functions, decentralized sales branch administration, monthly financial reporting and reconciliations, assisting with inventory quantity and costing accuracy, and various analysis and project work.
Responsibilities include:
- All facets of manufacturing accounts receivable, including credit granting, payment application, customer account monitoring and collections.
- Train, instruct, and assist regional sales branch administration across Canada in basic accounting and accounts receivable processes including collections.
- Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments.
- Interact with customers and sales branch administration to resolve outstanding issues.
- Prepare and maintain various reports.
- Reconciling and analysis of accounts.
- Gross profit analysis.
- Preparing/posting journal entries.
- Budget to actual variance analysis and reporting.
- Statistical reporting of key performance indicators.
- Preparing year end audit working papers and schedules.
- Providing backup information for provincial tax and other audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in accrual based general ledger accounting and accounts receivable.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a strong understanding of Excel.
- Working knowledge of Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Syteline ERP software, or equivalent accounting software.
- Three years' experience working in a manufacturing and/or wholesale environment.
