We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Cash Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for cash management activities for UNS, its subsidiaries and affiliates; providing consulting and analytical support for various cash management activities and projects; preparing and verifying data for accuracy before final month-end financial close, managing cash management bank relationships, and managing short- term cash planning and short-term investing activities for assigned companies. He or she will also prepare, balance, and maintain Oracle monthly reports and transaction registers and acts as team lead in the absence of the Treasury Supervisor. 

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily cash management, cash controls and related cash functions for assigned companies, their subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Manages daily cash flow from incoming deposits and payment disbursements and ensures accounts are appropriately funded.  Coordinates liquidity planning with the Assistant Cash Manager(s).  Maintains SOX controls and procedures to ensure optimal use of cash balances and resources, accurate recording and safeguarding of assets.
  • Responsible for preparing, reviewing, confirming, and reconciling cash management and disbursement activity data in cash ledgers used for checks and balances. Ensures accuracy of data in preparation for data to move to Financial Accounting for final review.  
  • Reviews and validates daily cash transactions for UNS, its subsidiaries and affiliates, against bank statements and cash ledgers. Determines what transactions should be entered into the Oracle system
  • Obtains supporting documentation and accounting information from various sources for processing misc. cash receipts to the correct general ledger accounts in the Oracle system with all pertinent information to include debit and credits, dates, description.
  • Coordinates and assists with the cash reconciling activity for UNS, its subsidiaries, affiliates and various banks.
  • Prepares Oracle month end transaction reports and reconciles all entries for misc. cash receipt process.
  • Responsible for certain cash bank management duties.
  • Maintains bank accounts, monitors bank software functions and account analysis fees, keeps current on industry and technological trends; assesses associated cash management risks. Responsible for management of online bank administration and access. Responsible for individual staff set-up and account access levels in online banks systems.
  • Maintains relationship with bank representatives and other third party providers to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of cash management processes. 
  • Maintains ACH File Exposures spreadsheet for banks to monitor pre-defined transaction levels with incoming and outgoing file transmissions.
  • Responsible to inform bank of unusual transactions that may exceed pre-determined monitoring levels.
  • Provides consulting and analytical support to the Company for cash related projects; encourages literacy of cash management policies, techniques that maximize available cash flow and alternatives that reduce risks. Provides alternatives to reduce bank fees.  
  • Maintains short term forecasts of cash flows and handles short- term investing of funds. 
  • Prepares for internal and external audits when requested; reviews and updates key controls, flowcharts and procedures when needed.
  • Seeks out and initiates more efficient and effective processes for Treasury Services and related departments.
  • Acts as liaison for the Treasury department for fielding payment requests or questions.
  • Trains and coaches Assistant Cash Manager(s) in order to maintain collaborative efforts and processes throughout all companies.
  • Acts as disaster recovery backup for Tax Services in regards to the initiation of ACH debits for state and federal tax payments.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Finance or related field and two (2) or more years of finance or accounting related experience.  Four (4) or more years of relevant experience in cash management or Treasury related functions.  Has a teachable attitude, interpersonal acumen, and is change oriented. Professional certification such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fundamental knowledge of cash management framework, banking practices/regulations, federal reserve system, NACHA/ACH, E-Commerce.  Fundamental understanding of financial statements, accounting principles and investment practices.  Ability to work independently with emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, timeliness, security and confidentiality.  Ability to meet multiple deadlines and work on multiple tasks under pressure. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.  Superior demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.  Superior time management skills including ability to prioritize, set, and meet deadlines.  Possesses strong PC skills to include working with excel spreadsheets. Possesses an understanding of online bank platforms to include self-administration of bank access, and various software programs that support cash management processes.
