Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting electronic subassemblies, final assemblies and parts for compliance to specifications and workmanship standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Quality Inspectors - Inspect product manufactured for sale, units repaired through customer service

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect in-house fabricated and supplier hardware for conformance to specification tolerance utilizing any required gages and special equipment.
  • Work in accordance with quality control standards and instructions and prepares documentation, i.e., appropriate stamps and related tags as required.
  • May use handling devices and operate handling equipment to support inspection.
  • Perform process mechanical inspection.
  • Comply with all work rules, including but not limited to, the Company's safety and attendance policies.
  • Work overtime as required.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Customer Service / Returns team with issuing RMAs.
  • Maintain accuracy of all inspection tasks.
  • May periodically be required to support ISO documentation maintenance.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:

Calipers, Multimeters, Pin Gages, Hole Gauges, Micrometers, Screw Driver, Torque Drivers, Electric Screw Driver, UV light Table, Microscope, miscellaneous mechanical hardware, Soldering Iron, PC or equivalent and photocopier.

Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand for at least four hours per day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must not present a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in quality background
  • Proficient use of micrometers and other measurement tools
  • Strong background in mechanical inspections is a must
  • Excellent English reading and writing skills

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Inspection of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Possess computer skills in a PC environment using word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Follow inspection guidelines of IPC-A-610 for workmanship/soldering and IPC-A-600 for printed Wiring Boards.
  • Comprehend ISO standards and requirements.
