This is an Account Executive job for an independent, media and technology loving, high energy sales person who thrives on selling SaaS Cloud solutions.

The Account Executive at CNW works with a top performing team building business around a world-class cloud based SaaS media intelligence platform and elite portfolio of communications services. Their role includes growing revenues within an existing account base and prospecting for new business opportunities across a limitless array of industries.


  • Building of a new business sales pipeline with identified prospects and opportunities within the prairie region, including Implementation of sales strategies, call prioritization, lead qualification and sales conversion to achieve revenue targets through the sales of CNW/Cision products and Services.
  • Engage in conceptual "client needs" based selling through innovative questioning techniques, identifying specific services, products and solutions to the buyer's needs.
  • Strategically plan sales visits to present solutions, cultivate relationships, and offer innovative programs to help develop and enhance the client's communication strategies.
  • Implement sales tactics and strategies, call prioritization, lead qualification and sales conversion to achieve revenue targets through the sales of CNW/Cision products and Services.
  • Comfortably present pricing and credit terms in accordance with company standards and procedures and customer profitability profile.
  • Successfully post-sell clients, ensuring terminology, features and benefits of services are understood, ensuring on-going customer satisfaction.
  • Continual documentation of activities to manage the sales and service cycle, using the SalesForce.com CRM system.
  • Participate in regional networking events, identifying and pre-qualifying new leads and opportunities.


  • Minimum 4+ years of experience selling SaaS products and services, preferably into the Marketing or Communications industries.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience communicating and selling a service to upper management or c-suite.
  • Proven track record of highly effective sales techniques through the phone, email and in-person resulting in consistently exceeding sales objectives.
  • A good business sense - can analyze a client's business, understand the financial metrics, and demonstrate to clients the cost/benefit of the service offering.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Technical Skills

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with all segments of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience and understanding of connections between the media and social media and it's affect on earned media for companies in a wide range of industries.
  • Proficiency with SalesForce.com CRM is an asset.
